Literature Circles

Literature circles at Warriner Middle School is our reading class. We teach reading through the exploration of novels for young adults. High interest novels are chosen at various levels to accommodate all readers. While exploring our novels students have the opportunity to work independently as well as in groups. We work on basic comprehension skills, vocabulary enrichment and the use of literary devices in writing. Students are not only asked to give an answer to a question, but to be able to back that answer up with details from the text. Warriner Middle school believes in balanced literacy, so elements of reading, writing and speaking are components of this class.
